LJP Announces First 12 Candidates for Bihar Assembly Polls

Lok Janshakti Party’s first 12 candidates for the Bihar polls will include Ram Vilas Paswan’s nephew and brother.

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) declared its first list of 12 candidates for the Bihar polls.

Party head and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s brother and nephew have made it to the list.

The Bihar Assembly polls will be conducted in five phases. The election will start from October 12 and continue till November 5.

The seat allotment was announced by BJP’s Amit Shah on Monday. 

Declaring the first list, LJP Parliamentary Board Chairman, Chirag Paswan, said there was a consensus with the BJP and other NDA allies on 29 of the 40 seats allotted to the LJP. Talks are still on to finalise 11 other seats which his party will contest.

The Union Minister’s brother Pashupati Kumar Paras, who is the Bihar state chief of the party, will fight for the reserved Alouli assembly seat.

Prince Raj, son of the LJP chief’s brother and Lok Sabha MP Ram Chandra Paswan, will make his debut from another reserved constituency, Kalyanpur.

The party’s candidate for the Gobindganj seat is Raju Tiwari, brother of former legislator Rajan Tiwari, who faces several criminal cases.

The other seats for which candidates have been declared are Ramesh Singh from Vibhutipur, Anil Chaudhary from Cheria Beriarpur, Subash Chandra Bose from Sikandara, Engineer Himanshu Kumar from Jamaalpur, Amar Kushwaha from Nathnagar, Satendra Singh from Fatuha, Vijay Paswan from Triveniganj, Sarita Paswan from Sonvarsha and Yusuf Khan from Simri Bakhtiyarpur.
