- Two army personnel – Ranjit Singh and Satish Bhagat – were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Kupwara district in Kashmir on 12 July.
- Elsewhere in Kashmir, three Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed on Wednesday in an encounter with security forces in central Kashmir's Budgam district.
- The encounters come two days after the deadly terror attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag where seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed, and 19 were injured in a militant attack.
