NDTV reported that a suspected Islamic State jihadist blew himself up in southeastern Turkey, near the Syrian border. The blast injured four police officers. The attack took place 800 kilometres from the venue of the two-day G20 summit that begins on Sunday in Belek, Antalya.

The bomber activated explosives attached to his body when the police raided an apartment in a 10-storey building in Gaziantep, according to the Dogan news agency. On Saturday, Turkish soldiers killed four suspected ISIS militants near the G20 Summit site.

At the site, security has been tightened, following the attacks in Paris that killed over a 120 people. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

In the Turkish resort town that will host the G20 Summit, thousands of security personnel and high-tech surveillance systems were put in place to protect the leaders of twenty of the world’s top economies, officials and journalists. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one among the world leaders at the Summit in Turkey.

In addition to approximately 13,000 security personnel, drone detection equipment, mobile camera, and license-plate and face-recognition systems are being used. The Summit will be held at the Regnum Carya Hotel Convention Center in Belek.
