Indian Air Force Plans to Induct Women in Fighter Stream

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will soon have women pilots in its fighter stream, says Air Chief Arup Raha.

We have women pilots flying transport aircraft and helicopter. We are now planning to induct them into the fighter stream to meet the aspiration of young women of India.

The IAF will start the process within a year of the government approving the proposal. They will be inducted after three years of the training commences.

On September 4, the Delhi High Court accepted various pleas by women seeking long term or permanent commission in the Indian Navy.
