India Awaits Pak’s Response on NIA’s Pathankot Probe Team Visit

The NIA wants to visit Pakistan to check progress on the Pathankot attack probe.

  • India is awaiting Pakistan’s response, for a visit by an National Investigating Agency (NIA) team, to review progress of the Pathankot investigation. Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met with Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry on 26 April, to discuss the same.


  • The NIA said it would like to visit Pakistan to carry forward the investigation on the attack.


  • A Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) visited India in March in connection with the probe in the Pathankot terror attack, perpetrated by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The NIA Director General had said the interaction with JIT was held in accordance with terms of reference mutually agreed on.
