Based on a video, the Delhi police has identified 20 more people who were shouting slogans at the Afzal Guru event held on the JNU campus on 9 February 2016. Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Saturday said that he has asked the investigation to be transferred to the Special Cell.

The names of these 20 students were given by the three students who have been arrested for sedition – Umar Khaled, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Kanhaiya Kumar – during the course of interrogation.

According to the report, the police has claimed that the real conspirators are the people with masks on their faces, seen in the video.

Umar Khaled and Anirban Bhattacharya were sent to police custody after they surrendered to the police on the midnight of Tuesday, 23 February.

Kanhaiya Kumar is in Tihar jail under judicial custody till 2 March. His bail plea will be heard on 29 February.
