Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday, 30 November, announced that his government will support the pet project of Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar to supply free sanitary napkins in all schools in the state.
Chhillar, who hails from Haryana, is spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene through her project ‘Shakti’.
A sum of Rs 18 crore will be incurred on this scheme, Khattar said.
The state government will also launch a programme to prevent anaemia among children in the state and Chhillar will be the brand ambassador for the programme, he said while congratulating her.

Speaking on the occasion, Chhillar said that Haryana has given a lot to her and she has dreams to do something for girls here.

She also lauded the efforts and initiatives of the Chief Minister and the state government in the direction to improve the sex ratio in the state.
