A 75-year-old ex-serviceman and elected office bearer of Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM) was arrested and taken away from his residence on Thursday. He has been taken to Palam Vihar Police Station in connection with a three-year-old false case that had been dismissed after investigation twice.

His daughter claimed that the Haryana police physically picked up Wing Commander CK Sharma from his residence late on Thursday evening without explaining the charges against him.

An IESM press release states that there were strict instructions from the high court to the police to not take any arbitrary action until the hearing, which is scheduled to take place on Friday.

CK Sharma is an active member of the One Rank One Pension protests.

Major General Satbir Singh, another active OROP protestor, tweeted that although the police said that CK Sharma was taken to Palam Vihar Police Station, on further enquiry he wasn’t found there.

As per sources, Sharma has been arrested on the basis of an FIR filed by complainant Lt Gen Raj Kadyan (retd.) under charges of alleged corruption. According to the complainant, the donation money meant for OROP protests was misused by Sharma and others.
