- On Monday, the Cabinet cleared four legislations supporting Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- The legislations approved are Compensation Law, the Central-GST (C-GST), Integrated-GST (I-GST) and Union Territory-GST (UT-GST). They will be introduced in the Parliament this week as money bills.
- The new tax, which is the biggest tax reform since Independence, is expected to boost economic growth and broaden the revenue base.
