Slamming Punjab government for police firing in Faridkot district, state Congress chief, Pratap Singh Bajwa demanded President’s rule in the state on Wednesday.

Alleging the state government of being unable to contain the situation, Bajwa said, police had let loose reign of terror.

He demanded a probe in the unprovoked firing by the police.

According to the state Congress chief, police failure to arrest the culprits responsible for the incident in Bargari village, when over 110 pages of Sikh religious book “Guru Granth Sahib” were found torn, led to the unrest among people.

He claimed that the districts of Moga and Faridkot had turned into a police state and a curfew like situation prevails in the two districts.

He alleged that the leaders of this corrupt government were filling their own coffers while the state had gone bankrupt.
