According to media reports, outgoing police commissioner Bassi is likely to become the next Chief Information Commissioner of New Delhi. The selection panel is set to make a decision on 19 February.
Bassi has been heavily criticised for his stance on the JNU Row. Therefore, becoming the next Chief Information Commissioner may not be well received by the masses.
Bassi is scheduled to retire from police service at the end of February.
