- An accident at the Turamdih mine in the outskirts of Jamshedpur killed one miner and injured 9 others in a mine of the Uranium Corporation of India Limited(UCIL) on 28 May.
- According to the primary report, water rushed into the mine while the miners were cleaning accumulated slush, killing Milan Karmakar and trapping 11 others, 9 of whom were rescued.
- Operations are on to rescue the two who remain trapped in the mine, while the rescued were rushed to Tata Main hospital.
