The ABVP on Sunday lodged two police complaints – the first against JNU’s associate dean for giving permission for the 9 February event, and the second against professor Nivedita Menon for allegedly “justifying” pro-Afzal slogans raised at the same event.

According to a report in The Hindu, both complaints were signed by Saurabh Sharma of the ABVP who is also the joint secretary of the Jawaharlal Nehru Students’ Union (JNUSU). The complaint was lodged in Vasant Kunj police station. No FIR has been registered yet.

Sharma has accused professor Menon of trying to incite students into ‘anti-national’ sloganeering.

DSW knew about the anti-national activity which was going to be held on the campus. But he gave the permission despite knowing what was going to be happen. I have also lodged another complaint against Professor Menon because she gave speeches in support of the event.
