The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suspended party member Jassi Jasraj for alleged anti-party activities on Friday. The musician-actor turned politician was a party member for close to six years.

The move came after Jassi uploaded a video on youtube accusing Aam Admi Party (AAP) leadership of including people having links with Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP), Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress instead of promoting local volunteers.

Jassi Jasraj had recently made a claim that Punjabis abroad will come home for 2017 elections to vote for AAP in the upcoming assembly elections. According to The Hindustan Times report, Jassi claimed that NRI support to his party was increasing and that they will come back to vote so that Punjab doesn’t lose.

Punjab goes to elections in 2017 as the current BJP-SAD government faces anti- incumbency and the AAP are seen as pre-poll favourites in the surveys.
