Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, will release the result of GATE 2018 on 17 March 2018. The institute had already released the answer key of the examination conducted on 3, 4, 10, 11 February on 19 February 2018.
What is the GATE Exam?
GATE or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level postgraduate entrance examination for admission to courses such as ME/MTech and PhD at IITs, IISc, NITs, GFTIs and some other universities in India. A good GATE score comes in handy for procuring a scholarship or financial aid for the chosen programme.
The GATE scores are also used for PSU recruitment. Some prominent PSUs which recruit through GATE include BHEL, GAIL, NTPC, ONGC etc. The scores are also used in recruitment to Grade A posts in the central government.
The scores of GATE are valid for a period of three years after taking the test.
How to Check GATE 2018 Result?
Log on to gate.iitg.ac.in to check your GATE result. You can also download the scorecard from 20 March onwards from the GOAPS portal as no hard copy will be available.
Steps to Check GATE 2018 Result:
- Log on to gate.iitg.ac.in
- Enter your registration number and other details on the homepage
- Check the score and take a printout for future reference
