The Indian Institutes of Management announced the date and schedule for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 on Saturday. CAT, as the exam is popularly called, is the gateway to India’s top ranking management schools. The exam is also a prerequisite for entry into business schools other than the IIMs.
CAT 2018 will be coordinated by IIM Calcutta and is slated to be held across a total of 147 cities in India.

When is the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018?
CAT 2018 is scheduled to be held on 25 November, the results of which can be expected in January 2019. The exam will be conducted in two sessions. The session in which the candidate takes the CAT examination will be decided randomly.
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a 180 minutes duration test comprising three sections – verbal ability, data interpretation, logical reasoning and quantitative ability.
Candidates are expected to finish each section in exactly 60 minutes. They will however be not able to switch from one section to the other while attempting a particular section.
When Does the Registration for CAT 2018 Begin?
Prospective applicants can register for CAT 2018 from 8 August to 19 September. The examination is completely online and candidates have to register online as well. No offline registrations are available.
Candidates can mark up to four city preferences in their registration form for centres where they wish to take the examination.
What is the Registration Fee for CAT 2018?
The registration fee for CAT 2018 is Rs. 1800 for General category candidates and Rs 900 for SC/ST/PWD category candidates.
The fee can be payed using credit cards, debit cards or net banking.
Admit Card for CAT 2018
The admit card for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 will be available from 24 October onwards till the day of the examination.
