See China as Inspiration, Not Competition: Raghuram Rajan
“I don’t speculate on whether we will catch up with China and when, but certainly we can,” said the RBI governor.
- Raghuram Rajan on Wednesday said that instead of trying to put China down and looking at it as a competitor, India should look at it as an inspiration of where it could reach in the next 10 to 15 years.
- “Of course China has its problems... but in three decades it has reached seven and half thousand dollars per capita income that is worth talking about,” said the RBI governor at an ASSOCHAM industry and trade interactive meet in Bengaluru.
- Rajan’s statement was in reply to a question about whether or not India would be able to catch up with China. Rajan added, “I don’t speculate on whether we will catch up and when, but certainly we can.”
