The government on Wednesday named Rajnish Kumar as the new chairman of State Bank of India for a period of three years, according to a government order. His appointment is with effect from 7 October.
He will replace current chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya.
Kumar is currently SBI’s managing director. He joined the board on 26 May 2015 and was chief executive officer of SBI Capital Markets earlier.
