American business magazine Forbes is facing major flak for featuring only one woman in its latest top 100 innovators of the world list.
Barbara Rentler, CEO of Ross Stores, was the only woman on a list filled with 99 men, at the 75th spot.
This year’s list is topped by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, followed by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who occupies the third spot. Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, takes the fifth spot, while Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was sixth Apple CEO Tim Cook was eighth on the list.
“The researchers ranked these visionaries in a high-powered selection of 100 innovators at top US companies,” Forbes said in the report.
However, having just one female on the list — that too a white woman — wasn’t taken well by people.
No Picture of the Woman, Silhouette Shows Male Figure
In fact, users on the internet also pointed how the magazine didn’t even post a picture of Rentler, the only woman entrant on the list. On top of that, Forbes used a silhouette of a man instead, further throwing netizens into a fit of rage.
