1. Mob Lynches Police Officer Outside Mosque In Srinagar, 2 Arrested

Deputy superintendent of police Mohammed Ayub Pandith was stripped naked and stoned to death by an irate mob after he allegedly opened fire at a group of people, who caught him clicking pictures near Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta earlier on Friday.

The police officer was reportedly on duty providing security to Mirwaiz Farooq, who is a separatist leader from the state. Senior police officers told NDTV that they might not provide security cover to Jamia Masjid henceforth. Read the full story here.

2. ISRO’s PSLV-C38 Launches Cartosat-2 With 30 Nano Satellites

India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) launched the Cartosat-2 series satellite along with 30 co-passenger satellites from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 9:29 am on 23 June.

PSLV-C38 launched the 712 kg Cartosat-2 series satellite for earth observation and 30 co-passenger satellites together, weighing about 243 kg at lift-off, into a 505-km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit, the space agency said. Watch the video here.

4. Presidential Elections 2017: How Does Your President Get Elected?

The President is elected by an electoral college, which comprises only of elected representatives. Nominated members of parliament, like Sachin Tendeulkar and Rekha ji, are not allowed to vote.

These include State legislative assembly members (including Puducherry and Delhi), and members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
