Forbes released its 31st annual list of billionaires, and Bill Gates has retained the top spot, with a net worth of $86 billion.
President Donald Trump has fallen 339 places from his spot at No. 205 in 2016 to No. 544, with his net worth found to be only $3.5 billion.
It’s a sharp decrease from the financial disclosure filed by his election campaign in May 2016, which stated his worth to be $10 billion. Even in October, his net worth was $3.7 billion.
The second spot on the list was bagged by Warren Buffet at $75.6 billion, and Jeff Bezos came in third with $72.8 billion. Besoz showed the biggest increase, with his net worth shooting up from $27.6 billion from last year.
Michael Bloomberg came in 10th with a net worth of $47.5 billion.
Trump’s critics have said he has inflated the true value of his wealth, saying his tax returns would provide a more accurate snapshot of his financial status. But Trump has defied convention and refused to release his returns.
Neither the White House nor the Trump Organization, which Trump's sons have run since their father's inauguration, immediately responded to a request for comment on the Forbes list.
