Today, 30 December, was the deadline set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for people to deposit their old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in banks. As the deadline closes in, with only a few hours left, The Quint brings you ground reports from across the country on how different metros, tier-II and tier-III cities are faring a month and half after demonetisation.

The voices from Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal and other cities differ in how they have dealt with the note ban. While some welcomed it for the ‘greater good of the country’, others continue to reel under the pressure of the cash crunch – but everyone, with no exception, seems to have felt the pinch.
