A new audio recording of Orlando nightclub gunman Omar Mateen’s 911 call during the 12 June massacre has been released. The gravest mass shooting in United States’ history targeted innocent people at a place they thought was safe.

Omar Mateen tells a police crisis negotiator:

You have to tell America to stop bombing Syria and Iraq. They are killing a lot of innocent people.

Mateen was killed by the police after he opened fire at Pulse nightclub, in a rampage that left 49 victims dead and 53 wounded. He professed allegiance to the Islamic State group.

A judge will now decide whether to release more than 200 other calls made during the rampage.

Surveillance Video Shows Aftermath of the Shooting

A new video that has been released reveals the horror outside Pulse nightclub, before, during and after the shooting. It shows how Mateen arrived at the club and the police followed two minutes after the first shots were reported.

People can be seen lying wounded in the parking lot after Mateen started shooting, while some others managed to escape the scene.

Half an hour into the shooting, Mateen called 911 and claimed responsibility for the attack. Three hours later, he was taken down by the police.

Six months after the horrifying incident, people are paying tributes to the innocent lives lost.
