Dear soldier,
I feel proud and privileged to write this letter to the defence forces. We, the citizens of India, are privileged to live safely in a country where the borders are surrounded by deadly neighbours. Your selfless contribution to our society is a prime example of your humbleness and sacrifice. Despite all the odds, you stand strong and protect us. But some of us still criticise you and your contribution. This is really unethical.
You leave your family, worldly possessions and desires for us. Nobody is comparable to you. I feel proud because my father was also in the Indian Air Force. My ‘Sandesh to a Soldier’ is of gratitude for your service. I feel soldiers are the true successors of our freedom fighters who laid down their lives to save our mother nation.
