My Report: Mumbai Rains Halt Vadodara Express; Commuters Seek Help
The train is stuck near Nalasopara Station, the passengers have been informed that a rescue team is on its way.
Along with life in Mumbai, the rains have also brought the train I am travelling in to a standstill.
The 6 hours 20 minute-long journey in the Vadodara Express 12928 turned into a nightmare for its commuters on Tuesday, 10 July. I, along with other passengers, have been stranded in the train since 4 am due to Mumbai rains.
Initially we thought it would be a small halt but to our horror, the train stopped for good.
The air conditioners have been switched off since the last 6-7 hours. The electricity has been turned off as well. And now it seems the train is about to go out of water too.
Thankfully, we are near the Nalasopara station so the residents of Shivam society in Nalasopara East have been kind enough to give us water, tea, milk and food.
There is no electricity in their society and when we offered them money for their kind gesture, they refused to take it.
I pray that the train starts moving fast. Otherwise, life is going to get difficult for us.
(At the time of publication the train was still halted near Nalasopara Station but the passengers have been informed that a rescue team has been dispatched.)
