The maiden edition of the My Report debate was a huge success! Subhashish Nandi won Rs 10,000 in the English category and Manish Patel won the same from the Hindi category.
The top 10 from both categories were awarded a certificate of merit and published on The Quint.
We are happy to announce that we are now bringing the second edition of the My Report Debate.
And the winners tell you why!
I’m aware that The Quint has a vast and a very discerned readership, so I’m very happy that The Quint involved the general public for this, so I also took the opportunity to participate in the essay competition.Subhashish Nandi, Winner, New Delhi
And they urge for more participation this time around.
I urge more readers to participate because this will bring out a variety of news on issues that are important to our country. We generally read articles by a handful of journalists and columnists, and in the long run that limits the general angle of our perspective.Nikhil Taunk, Top 10 English, Pune
And hope for more women to come forward.
In this patriarchal society, the condition of women and girls is such that a lot of doors are not open for them. We can hope that through The Quint there is a platform for women to express their opinion about the nation and the society and they can share that with the rest.Manish Patel, Winner, New Delhi (Hindi category)
The process is the same as before: we'll give you a question, and you have to respond with an original essay, within 300-500 words.
The question is – How to fix the India-Pakistan relationship: Jaadu ki jhappi or surgical strike?
A senior editor from The Quint and two veteran journalists will judge the entries. May the best-argued essay win!
