I had invested in Ireo’s ‘Waterfront’ township in Ludhiana in 2013. Till date, the construction of my flat hasn’t been completed, nor is it near completion, and I was promised possession in 2016. My case is not the only one.
My flat is on the second floor. If one sees the entrance to the flat, it not possible for anyone to go upstairs. It's not in a livable condition. Some people have moved in on the opposite side of my flat. One or two flats are occupied, albeit with no guards or safety protocols. We are almost through 2019 and possession of my dream home is a distant reality.
I have been asking Ireo authorities again and again about the status of construction. Every time, they answer “It will be completed soon.”
That communication happened till last year. I have paid Rs 46 lakh till date and I have also taken a loan for which I am paying EMIs every month to the tune of Rs 26,000. Whenever I speak to someone from Ireo, I am given false hopes. It shocks me that even after telling them that I would approach RERA, they are unaffected. Of course, with many homebuyers angry with Ireo, will one more make a difference?
In my final communication with Ireo, I was offered the plot but without an NOC, which I refused.
We invested a huge amount of money from our savings, for what? When will I get my dream house?
