As people across the world gear up to celebrate love and express it to the ones they hold dear, here is all you should know about Valentine’s Week 2019.

History of Valentine’s Day

According to a popular belief, Valentine’s Day is celebrated to commemorate the death anniversary of Saint Valentine who passed away in February 270 AD.

Saint Valentine was a priest who reportedly helped Christian couples get married in secrecy, and it was due to such acts, reports say, that he was beheaded by Emperor Claudius II who was believed to have been against the institution of marriage.

Saint Valentine supported people who were in love and wanted to marry, and that is why people remember him even today.
