Laws are being discussed in by many countries imposing bans on Burka and Hijab, the recent one being Sri lanka after France and Belgium.Hijab is a head cover worn by some Muslim women and Burka is an outfit worn by Muslim women in public spheres covering the entire body.
But, still there are few models who are standing against the tide and making more than just a fashion statement with the Hijab. Is it possible then that their doing so would make the Hijab the next new thing in fashion?

Halima Aden created history with a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue by becoming the first ever model to flaunt a Hijab and Burkini, which is a Burka in swimwear form, on the cover of the magazine.
In 2016,Halima Aden created lot of stir on the social media being the first ever contestant of the Miss Minnesota USA to participate in the pageant wearing a Hijab and Burkini. She even managed to reach the beauty pageant's semi-finals. Aden, a Somali-American, grew up in the Kakuma refugee camp of Kenya, before immigrating to the US with her family at the young age of seven.

Taleedah Tamar is the first Haute Couture model coming from Saudi Arabia. She gained recognition after her Paris Fashion Week debut. She walked for the renowned Antonio Grimaldi. Taleedah is also a former Giorgio Armani model.

Ikran Abdi Omar is a Somalian model who made her mark into the fashion world after walking for the London Modest Fashion Week. Her claim to fame moment was the big world debut at the Molly GoddardFW18 show. Omar also made it into the list of Dazed 100 in 2018.

Aighewi walked for famous designer brands such as Alexander Wang Coach, Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, Tommy Hilfiger and so many more. She also ranked on the Hot List on models.com in 2018.
