When it comes to styling tips, India turns to Bollywood. We follow our favourite actors for style inspiration all the time. At Marks and Spencer’s launch of their new ‘Rethink’ line, The Quint caught up with Vaani Kapoor who was walking the ramp for the fashion brand.
Vaani Kapoor has pulled off the girl next door in her movie roles even when it comes to styling. The actor says she likes to keep it simple and is a very “denim and a t-shirt kind of of a girl”. Even in her movies like Shuddh Desi Romance and Befikre, she had a rather easy dressing sense.
We asked Vaani if she would want to steal a particular outfit from a movie set and she said that she has wanted to take all of what she’s worn but studios aren’t that generous to give her all the outfits which are generally very expensive.
But does Vaani prefer flats or heels? She says she’s more of a sneaker and flats kind of a person but when she has to wear heels for fashion shows, events or award functions; she has a pair of flats waiting in her car which she slips into as soon as she gets in.
Vaani Kapoor walked the ramp for Marks and Spencer as the British brand launched its new spring/summer collection. The line is called ‘Rethink’ and is trying to incorporate the Indian trends with a mix of linen and cottons for both men and women. There’s a mix of trousers, pant suits, shirts, maxi dresses and skirts for everyone. Summer’s all about the light feel fabrics, the brand has tried to incorporate pastels and flowery prints keeping the season in mind.
