There’s something exceptionally powerful about a leg flashing out of a thigh high slit gown; the visual simply evokes oodles of feminine power.
It’s a garment for the alpha female, if you will.
And there was plenty of it on display at Monisha Jaising’s show held on Day 5 of India Couture Week 2017.

It was also appropriately fitting to have Shilpa Shetty, an emblem of the fiercely feminine, walk the ramp in a fiery zari gown.
Although the gown was woven in Benaras, it could easily own the room in Manhattan, we assure you.
Keeping her love for the dramatic consistent, this time too Monisha had a lot of concept lehengas, evening dresses, cocktail saris and evening gowns in her Ópera collection.
Inspired by the Opera, the collection comes with a theatrical variation of fabrics composed of lamé, velvet metallics, tulle, chikankari, Italian organza, banarasi, and metallic satin.
We especially found the off shoulder jacket pretty intriguing.
It was all going high on drama and excitement. But alas, the gown saris gave us a minor disappointment and transported us back from our operatic dreams - shoving us straight into a Delhi Punjabi Bagh wedding scene.

What can we say: It was heart breaking to see Opera turn into Oh praaa!
