She is Indian cricket’s favourite first lady, and her no-nonsense approach is reflected in her sartorial style - which is youthful, energetic and yet relaxed. We are referring to none other than Sakshi Singh Dhoni, who turned heads at the recently concluded high-profile wedding of BFF Poorna Patel (former Civil Aviation Minister, Praful Patel’s daughter) in Mumbai.
While one came across unreasonably OTT bridesmaids’ couture lately at similar high-profile evenings, what appealed to us about Sakshi’s choice of outfits is the simplicity and minimalism they reflected. Sakshi’s fashion game is one that young women can completely relate to.
Thanks to her stylist Shymali Arora, Sakshi stole the show flaunting one look after the other - from the deep maroon and bright yellow saris to her powder pink and mint lehengas - with utmost panache. What worked most we thought was how she carried her fun, chirpy and bubbly personality. She came across as that typical bridesmaid who twirled occasionally and clicked bundles of pictures. From her make-up on point and minimal jewellery to pinning the Instagram game, Sakshi topped it all!

Sakshi kicked off her bestie’s wedding celebrations in a sunshine yellow customised Arpita Mehta ensemble. The embroidered halter-neck blouse looked extremely chic. Simple dangling diamond earrings sans heavy jewellery got her full marks for this one.
Seen in a Manish Malhotra couture lehenga on day 2, this one was a show-stealer hands down. Apart from the fact that Bebo wore a similar show-stopping outfit at a fashion show, Sakshi slayed the look.
The pretty powder pink lehenga with fine intricate sparkle thread and floral embroidery was clubbed with a matching mesh detailed embroidered choli (blouse) and a soft pink dupatta. With her hair let loose and staple eye make-up, Sakshi completed her look with a two-layered diamond necklace.
Next she chose to wear a plain deep maroon Manish Malhotra sari with a silver blouse. The neat curls made her look elegant. Also just the choice of colour is what we are digging for here, and of course the clean and tidy pleats that gave a neat finish to the sari. Again, she chose to keep it simple on the jewellery front and accessorised the look with her hubby Mahendra Singh Dhoni and daughter, Ziva.
For Poorna’s wedding with Mumbai based businessman, Namit Soni, Sakshi wore an all over embroidered Anita Dongre lehenga with gold jhumkas and lots of bangles.
Sakshi concluded the celebrations in an ultra sexy Payal Singhal Naureen puffed sleeved outfit for the reception. The mint coloured puff long sleeved embroidered choli was teamed with a lightweight silk lehenga and hair let loose behind the ears.
