British tennis player and World No.2 Andy Murray and wife Kim Sears has named their first daughter Sophia Olivia, the athlete’s agent has announced.
Sears, 28, gave birth to Sophia on February 7 in the English county of Surrey, where the couple currently resides. The announcement was made on Wednesday, reports Efe.
In January the player made it clear he would not hesitate to shorten his season in the event that the baby was born earlier and stressed that his family would always be his “priority”.
Murray, who won Wimbledon in 2013, was beaten by Djokovic in the 2016 Australian Open final. Immediately after the match, he sent a tearful message to his wife on the official broadcast, promising to “take the next flight home.”
