A 42-year-old man, identified as Naveen Soni, died in Fatehabad late on 5 August after a BJP municipal president allegedly stopped the ambulance he was being taken to the hospital in.

According to reports, the family of the deceased have filed a complaint against Darshan Nagpal, a BJP councilor from Fatehabad, for holding up the ambulance. Nagpal’s car reportedly had a minor accident with the ambulance, following which he chased the ambulance and intercepted it, causing a delay of around 30 minutes.

Nagpal also allegedly snatched the keys from the ambulance driver and started arguing with the patient’s family.

However, the leader later told ANI that he had not stopped the ambulance. Barricades for VIP movement has cost two lives this year in two separate incidents.
