St Stephen’s Releases First Cut-Off List, English and Eco at 98.5%

The dip in cut-offs is because the college wants to interview more students for a course, for a better pool.

St Stephen’s College in University of Delhi released its first cut-off list for undergraduate courses on Wednesday, with the highest cut-off percent for English and Economics courses at 98.5%.

While the cut-off for the English course has been relaxed by 0.5% from last year’s 99%, the cut-off for Economics has risen by 0.3% from 98.2%.

The dip in cut-offs this year is because the college wants to interview more students for a course, for a better pool reported Times of India.

By the time the last interview takes place, most of our students have taken admission in other colleges. So this time we decided to bring more students in the first few lists and take real interviews instead of just filling seats.

The cut-offs for Humanities stream has dipped by 0.5% on an average this year, except for Sanskrit, which stayed at 70%. On an average, Class 12 Humanities students require at least 95% to make it through any of the courses in the college’s first cut-off list.

Meanwhile in the B.Sc courses, Chemistry (hons) and Physics (hons) are at 96.33% and 97.33% respectively. The cut-offs for Mathematics (hons) is at 97%. Aspirants can check for the cut-offs on St Stephen’s website.

According to Hindustan Times, St Stephen’s received 24,168 applications across the 11 courses it offers. The college reserves 50% of its seats for Christians and conducts an aptitude test and an interview as part of its admission process.
