Indian Air Force, on Wednesday, categorically rejected Pakistani media reports claiming that Mirage jet planes were flown over the Siachen Glacier, violating India’s air space.

Samaa TV reported that Jet fighters of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) made flights near Siachen Glacier on Wednesday morning. However, no further information on the “violation” was reported.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Chief of Air Force Sohail Aman visited the Skardu forward base with Pakistan Air Force, as reported by Pakistan’s Geo TV.

The air chief reportedly flew a PAF Mirage jet himself as a part of war exercises. Geo TV quoted him as saying, “The nation should not worry about the enemy’s statements.”

According to Radio Pakistan, Aman said that Pakistan will give a befitting response to any misadventure by the ‘enemy’. He also reviewed the exercises and operational preparedness of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Earlier on 20 May, The Indian Express reported Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa asking the IAF “to be prepared for operation with our present holdings, at a very short notice.”

Reports of PAF violating Indian air space came after the Indian Army announced on Tuesday that it launched "punitive fire assaults" on Pakistani positions across the Line of Control earlier this month, inflicting some damage.

The action was taken in response to the beheading of two Indian soldiers in Kashmir by Pakistani special forces.
