A local Mumbai court in Dindoshi has granted anticipatory bail to TVF founder and CEO Arunabh Kumar in the sexual harassment cases filed against him with the Mumbai Police. Speaking to The Quint, Senior Inspector Sailesh Pasalvar of Andheri’s MIDC Police Station, where the first FIR against Kumar was lodged, confirmed that they had interrogated the TVF CEO multiple times.
News18 reported that Kumar had been interrogated by the Mumbai Police on eight occasions.
On 29 March, a woman who had alleged sexual harassment by the TVF founder had lodged an FIR against him at the MIDC police station in Andheri. Within the next few days, another woman lodged an FIR at Versova police station.
The anticipatory bail comes as a relief to Kumar. On 7 April, he had been granted interim relief from arrest till the bail hearing.
Following an anonymous blog on Medium.com, in which an alleged TVF ex-employee accused Kumar of sexually harassing her, multiple women had spoken to The Quint and levelled similar allegations against him. More recently, the author of the original anonymous blog has claimed that she too has filed a case against Kumar.
