After TVF’s denial of incidents of sexual harassment committed by its founder Arunabh Kumar, comedian José Covaco has taken it upon himself to ‘fix’ what is called an appropriate response to the issue.
When several women have stepped up to accuse The Viral Fever (TVF) founder and CEO Arunabh Kumar of sexual harassment after an anonymous Medium post with similar claims went viral, TVF defiantly rubbished all allegations taking the same route of doubting the woman, or in this case, the women’s versions.
They called the accusation “ludicrous and defamatory” and “categorically false, baseless and unverified”.
Instead of looking into the possibility of the women’s accounts, it gave a recalcitrant response.
It is unfortunate to witness gender biases in the most upbeat of all modern workplaces. While all accounts have a possibility to be falsified, something as serious as sexual harassment cannot be dismissed without a probe.
As if TVF’s uncooperative comment wasn’t disconcerting enough, dubbing the Medium post as slander in an interview to Mumbai Mirror, TVF founder and CEO said, “I am a heterosexual, single man and when I find a woman sexy, I tell her she’s sexy... I will approach a woman, but never force myself.”
Many more appalled social media users have spoken up on TVF’s unrefined official reaction.
