Arre, ABVP...

Kaahe so creepy?

Tera game hai over,

Teri bajj gayi seeti.

Pichwada police ka pakad le kass ke

Aur patli galli se nikal le bach ke.

Tera game hai over,

Teri bajj gayi seeti;

Arre, ABVP...

Why so creepy?

The latest voice to speak out against the ABVP and its supporters for inciting violence comes in the form of a Hindi poem, titled “Arre, ABVP, Kaahe So Creepy?”

The poem, which has been uploaded by YouTube user Nemo Nath, talks about movements like Pinjra Tod, Azaadi, the JNU row, Occupy UGC and other issues, and calls out the RSS-backed ABVP for using the “anti-national” argument to threaten the rights of students. In the words of the poet: “Tera kya jaata?” (How does it concern you?)

The poem has been making the rounds on social media, with many touting it to be Delhi University’s rallying cry against the ABVP for inciting violence during the protests at Delhi’s Ramjas College on 21-22 February.

The YouTube video description reads as follows:

A few days ago, an interesting, anonymous open letter addressed to ABVP on behalf of Delhi University was recovered from Maurice Nagar Police Station premises in Delhi. For the good of everyone, the words and thoughts of this letter are being shared here. Listen to it carefully, memorise the words and repeat it to your friends.

The poem appears to capture the essence of the revolution. It is motivating and cheeky in equal parts. After all, ABVP, why so creepy?
