Eleven alleged ISI operatives were arrested by Madhya Pradesh Anti Terorist Squad on Thursday. Among the arrested was a relative of a sitting BJP corporate.

The Congress has alleged that Dhruv Saxena, another arrested accused was the district coordinator of BJP’s IT cell of Bharatiya Janat Yuva Mocha (BJYM) in Madhya Pradesh.

Saxena’s photo with MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a saffron t-shirt has gone viral on social media.

Although BJP has officially denied having any link with those arrested, senior party leaders expressed their worries about the ISI’s possible infiltration, India Today reported.

Quoting a senior BJP leader, India Today reported:

Denying association with those arrested in public is one thing but the real problem can be gauged from the fact that one of them was holding a post in the party’s IT cell and he had access to so much data and information.

The Congress on Friday burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and also tweeted some stinging messages against the BJP

Times of India quoted State BJP chief Nand Kumar Chauhan as saying:

I don’t know Dhruv and neither is he a member of the party. I congratulate ATS for the arrests. Digvijaya Singh’s tweet is aimed to vitiate communal harmony in the state.

BJYM district president Anshul Tiwari too defended his party and said:

A picture cannot corroborate connivance of any leader with a criminal or anti-social element. People take photos with top leaders and sometimes join public and party functions to take advantage. But this does not indicate any association
