Villages are struggling to get back to their normal lives after Prime Minister Modi’s decision to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. In Garhi Village, only 45 km from the capital, Munni struggles to feed her five children because nobody in the village will give her change for the old Rs 500 notes that she was paid her salary with. Others, like shopkeeper Naushad, complain of inflation in the wake of the ban. Vijay, a Class X student, does not have money to travel to school. Garhi village, like several others, is brought to a standstill.
