Life Journey of Pratibha Gautam: Loved Her Work, Fought for Love

Pratibha Gautam’s death has shocked everyone around her.

A girl so good at her work that she became a judge at the young age of 26, a feat that is incredible for many. Yes, that was Pratibha Gautam, who was found dead in mysterious circumstances at her residence on Sunday.

No one could believe that the confident girl with an ever-present smile, who led a life worthy of emulation, had met her end so soon.

Pratibha’s journey began from the supposedly backward town of Urai. She rose up to the rank of the Judicial Magistrate in Kanpur (Rural) in a short span of time.

Pratibha, who celebrated her 28th birthday on 27 August, was good in studies from her childhood. She is said to have scored a first division from high school to LLM. She also qualified the Provincial Civil Service-Judicial (PCS-J) at the age of 26.

Darling of Friends

The Quint got in touch with a few people who used to study with Pratibha in college. One of them, on conditions of anonymity, said that she was very sweet and cheerful.

Many of them, who were grief-stricken with the news, said that she always put friends and family first.

Rebelled for Love

Pratibha married Tees Hazari Court lawyer Manu Abhishek Rajan on 23 January without the consent of her family. Ironically, her husband is the prime suspect in the murder case.

Her wedding was marked by the absence of her family members and the severed ties continued even after the marriage. Abhishek and Pratibha had known each other since college.

Pratibha was 3-months pregnant and the question of abortion of the child was a point of contention between the couple among other reasons like dowry, claim sources.
