Bansal’s suicide note names CBI officers and alleges that it was the investigative agency’s excesses that led to him and son taking this extreme step.

Bansal mentions names of CBI Deputy Inspector General and two lady officers who allegedly tortured his wife. The note also mentions a havildar who allegedly abused his wife and daughter.

Transcript of the Letter

I am committing suicide because of the harassment by the CBI. Rekha Sangwan and Amrita Kaur came to our house during the raid and abused my wife. DIG Sanjeev Gautam asked the lady officers accompanying him to torture “these women so much that they are almost dead”.

I pleaded with the DIG, but he said “if I don’t torture them then I can’t be an officer”. He told me, “Your future generations will be scared of my name.” The DIG said he is Amit Shah’s man and no one can harm him. He tortured me a lot.

Even if I was guilty, why torture my wife and daughter? This was murder of two ladies, it can't be called suicide . I want lie detector test of all these officers.

On 18 July, these lady officers told my wife that they will chop me and my son into pieces and feed them to dogs. I had heard CBI was tough but not this extent of torture.

CBI director should probe these allegations. Investigative officer Pramod Tyagi was very supportive. I wish him well.

BK Bansal, His Son Found Hanging in Three Bedroom Flat

BK Bansal, former director general of Corporate Affairs, committed suicide with his son in their house on Tuesday, two months after his wife and daughter had committed suicide as well.

Bansal and Yogesh were found hanging by their maid Rachna when she entered the three bed-room flat situated at the first floor of Neelkanth Apartments in east Delhi's Patparganj area around 8.30 am. Bansal's body was found in the drawing room while his son's body was hanging in one of the bedrooms.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rishipal said "it appears the suicide attempts were made between 2 and 3 am on Tuesday".

The incident took place almost two months after Bansal's wife Satyabala, 57, and daughter Neha, 27, had committed suicide by hanging themselves. They had taken the extreme steps on 19 July after Bansal was questioned by the CBI.

According to the neighbours, Bansal and his son were upset over the ongoing graft case and the recent deaths in the family. They also said that the two did not talk much and remained silent.

CBI Says It Will Inquire the Allegations

Meanwhile after surfacing of the allegations against its officials, CBI on Wednesday constituted an internal inquiry to look into the matter.

Earlier, a CBI statement said that the agency was "deeply saddened to know the unfortunate demise of BK Bansal and his son today (Tuesday)" and that the matter is being looked into by the local police.

Bansal was arrested on 16 July on charges of receiving a bribe of Rs 9 lakh for extending favours to a corporate firm. He was dealing with matters related to alleged violations by a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company.

A Delhi court had granted bail to Bansal on 30 August. According to sources, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had summoned him for further questioning on Tuesday.
