Bihar Journalist Murder: Siwan Jail Raided, 8 Phones Recovered

  • Joint raid conducted by DM and SP, on Wednesday in Siwan jail in Bihar in connection with the murder of 45-year-old journalist of Hindi daily Hindustan–Rajdev Ranjan. He had been writing for a long time against law-breakers in the area.

  • Two knives and eight mobiles were recovered from Siwan jail where RJD strongman and four-time MP Mohammad Shahabuddin is lodged, India Today reported. Four of Shahabuddin’s visitors have been detained.

  • Another journalist Akhilesh Pratap Singh was gunned down near the panchayat secretariat in Chatra, Jharkhand on Thursday night. The killings have triggered a series of protests across Bihar and Jharkhand by the media.
