Japanese Tourist Dies ‘While Taking A Selfie’ at Taj Mahal

A 66-year-old tourist succumbed to serious head injuries after he fell while taking a selfie at the Taj Mahal.

A 66-year old Japanese tourist has reportedly died after falling off the stairs at the iconic Taj Mahal monument in Agra.

Sagar Singh, an eyewitness has told BBC that the tourist fell while taking a selfie inside the monument.

The victim, identified as H Ueda, had sustained serious injuries in the head during the fall on Thursday. He was rushed to a local nursing home where doctors declared him dead, a PTI report said.

Several other reports say that one of the friends of deceased tourist too fell down the stairs and fractured his leg.

This is not the first accident where people have died while attempting a selfie. Several such accidents have been reported in the recent past where selfie lovers have suffered injuries or lost their lives to freak accidents.
