Islamabad, April 10 (IANS) A four-day joint naval drill was conducted by Pakistan and Turkey concluded in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Tuesday.
"The main objective of the exercise was to enhance interoperability between the two brotherly navies," said a press release issued by Pakistan Navy.
The joint drill covered a wide range of maritime operations encompassing anti-surface, anti-air and anti-submarine warfare as well as maneuvering and communication exercises.
Counter piracy drills were also carried out in which boarding teams demonstrated practical boarding operations onboard a suspect vessel, the press release added.
Officers from the navies of both countries praised the competence of the navies and expressed their satisfaction at the successful conclusion of the exercise
