Two policemen died on Saturday after their jeep collided head-on with a bike, following which it rammed into a state transport bus. The policemen died on the spot, while bystanders clicked photos of the accident – which occurred at Alanahalli on the Mysuru-T Narasipura road.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning, while the policemen were on their way to Suttur for security arrangements for a yatra. The driver, Lakshman, 38, died on the spot. The inspector, Mahesh Kumar, 38, was stuck inside the mangled jeep for close to half-an-hour, till the Mysuru SP arrived at the spot with reinforcements.

We arrived at the spot some 25 minutes after the accident, and took Mahesh Kumar to a nearby private hospital. He succumbed to his injuries within minutes.
