In what seems to be an another case of vigilantism turning violent, gau rakshaks thrashed a man on the suspicion of him hurting a cow in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
The incident was caught on camera and went viral, after which the police filed a complaint. It shows a group of men cornering and brutally assaulting the victim repeatedly.
According to PTI, the group suspected that the victim had cut off the tail of a cow.
The victim attained several injuries and was taken to a hospital nearby. According to the latest reports, the police have arrested at least four persons in connection with the case whereas search for others who are on the run is underway.
