In the first for its category - a gender neutral Best Actor in a Movie Award at the MTV Awards - Emma Watson has won for her role in Beauty and the Beast. But that’s not all. She won it by beating some of the best in the business, such as Hugh Jackman (for Logan) and James McAvoy (for Split). She also delivered a fiery speech about bridging the gap between the sexes through this award.
Beauty and the Beast also won in the category of Movie of the Year at the same award function.
However, it wasn’t a dreary day for Hugh Jackman, since he along with Dafne Keen won the Best Duo for Logan.
The popular Netflix show, Stranger Things, won Show of the Year and the entire cast was more than excited to beat its contenders that included Game of Thrones.
