The “u up” tweet garnered over 25,000 retweets in the first 30 seconds and looks set to be the most viral tweet from this year’s ceremony.
Hollywood seldom shies from taking a stand when the need calls for it, a far cry from the Bollywood stars who are often intimidated into keeping their political opinions private.
Kimmel’s style of hosting sparked a flurry of excitement on social media. He kicked off the ceremony with a monologue that looked like something right out of his show, ‘Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!’
